Feature request: column values extraction and substitution   16 June 2016, 21:39

Hi there Andrew and Co.

I've been creating an application string with 'user input' using the {input here:default value} option. I've learned you can Input a default value using a : (colon) in the string, very useful. I wondered if the default value could be extracted from a column. For example, this is the string I have used:
cmd /K reg add "\\%0\HKU\{Logged SID:[Logged SIDs]}\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v AutoConfigURL /t REG_SZ /d {AutoPac:http://internetspc.jpress.co.uk/jpdefault.pac} /f

Here's screenshot of the result:

As you can see it's presented plain text rather than the column value. This would be a useful feature allowing values to be pre-completed with option to amend.

Hope I've made it clear.

Many thanks as always
John

It's actually gets substituted after this dialog. In this example [Logged SIDs] will be converted to the column values just before the command is run.

You can try this for testing:
cmd.exe /k echo {IP address:[IP address]}

The reason why the substitution is done later is that when more than one row is selected, it would be impossible to display a column value from multiple rows in this dialog.

Right, I see.
The reason I wanted to implement this is there's often Multiple SID's, and so it would give the opportunity to omit the unwanted SIDs. If it can't be done then not to worry, can always revert to manual copy and paste.

Rgds,
John
