Scanning SMBv3 shares   31 July 2020, 10:38

Just wondering if the NetScanner can conduct scans against SMBv3 Shares?

My underlying concern is that SMBv1 is not installed by default in Windows 10 version 1709.

Microsoft

In Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and Windows Server, version 1709 (RS3) and later versions, the Server Message Block version 1 (SMBv1) network protocol is no longer installed by default. It was superseded by SMBv2 and later protocols starting in 2007. Microsoft publicly deprecated the SMBv1 protocol in 2014.

SoftPerfect Network Scanner will use whatever SMB versions are installed and available in Windows.

In recent builds of Windows 10 it usually means SMBv2 or SMBv3, as Microsoft is retiring SMBv1 due to its security vulnerabilities.
