The difference between these two commands is in the system startup stage at which mounting occurs: boot-time disks are mounted at the boot stage before the logon screen, logon-time disks are mounted only after user has logged in. Note that if you unmount logon-time disk manually, it will not be mounted after system reboot unless you mount it again manually.

I have the same problem with my windows 8.1 pro 64bit. But I can share my experience in this issue. When windows logs on to lock screen, I wait for about 10 seconds or more before sign in. Then I see Softperfect Ramdisk icon in the taskbar, it is auto-mounted amazingly. I guess the reason is the too fast start up by UEFI in windows 8.1 pro x64.

P.s: I just use add disk instead of add boot disk
