Today I accidentally clicked the "Shadow Copy" tab on my Ram drives properties. I saw an 0x######## error on the page, but seconds later the system blue screened. I have the crash dump if interested.
It's nothing that bothers me, just want to let you guys know. Maybe you can reproduce it.
I haven't tried it again to see if it happens all the time. Before it crashed the Windows 2012 Server was running for weeks, with lots of traffic on the RAM drive. I'll try it again after posting this, if I don't post again it didn't crash
Ok, it crashed again... but it might not be the "Shadow Copies" tab, it may be the "Previous Versions" tab. Here is the other dump: [speedy.sh]
Interestingly it looks like it happens in a completely different module/address.
Yes, these two BSODs seem to be unrelated and it's unclear whether there is a connection with the RAM Disk.
I recommend to re-create a RAM disk with the Hard Disk Emulation option turned on. It normally resolves all issues with VSS and other drivers that don't expect a standalone volume that doesn't belong to a hard disk drive.
