How to get RAM disk in Windows "Resource Monitor"

Started by Yibo

Hi,

Is there any way to monitor RAMdisk activity in "Resource Monitor" in Windows? By default "Resource Monitor" just doesn't anything about RAMdisk under "Disk".

Thanks!
Ohh... just found out - by using "Hard Disk Emulation". I never tried it before cause the hint says it is a bit slower laugh

Yes, that's pretty much it:
  • With the HDD emulation option off, a RAM disk is a standalone volume (like a USB flash drive) and it's not available under Performance Monitor or Disk Management.
  • With the HDD emulation option on, a complete disk with partitions is emulated and thus can be accessed in many Windows tools.
