Not seeing drive R: after RAM Disk installation

Started by User

I don't seem to be able to install RAM Disk with Boot Camp on Windows 10. I'm installing a trial version. There are no errors, all goes well, but after I finish the installation and reboot, there is no drive R.

For my RAM disk in the "Add/Edit Disk" window I choose:
  • Size: 8000 MB
  • Image: nothing
  • Drive letter: R
  • Hard disk emulation: checked
  • Mount as removable: checked
  • File system: RAW
What am I doing wrong?

You are not seeing the newly created R drive because you have chosen the RAW option in the RAM disk settings. RAW means no file system.

You should select a file system, for example NTFS or exFAT.

Sometimes you can find a solution faster if you try the forum search, have a look at the knowledge base, or check the software user manual to see if your question has already been answered.
