How can a standard user re-enable "Allow non-privileged users to modify settings"?

Started by Keith Baumback

Hi. I'm a new user. In the settings, I unchecked box "Allow non-privileged users to modify settings". Now, as I'm non-privileged because I'm not a network administrator but only a Windows 11 Pro Administrator, I cannot return to settings to reapply this check-mark.Thus, I have no choice but to uninstall and reinstall RAMDisk. In case I were to ever do this again because of my stupidity and ignorance, is there a way to undo it?

To revert this setting, you need to edit the configuration file manually:
  1. Quit the RAM Disk application using File - Exit in the main menu. Do not use the [X] button as it will only minimise the application.
  2. Open this file in Notepad
      %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\SoftPerfect\RAM Disk\ramdisk.xml
  3. Change this line
  4. Start the RAM Disk application again.
OK, then I take back what I said earlier. I will be likely to purchase the program. Thanks for responding quickly.
