Disable renewal popup message to allow automatic scrips run uninterrupted

Started by Priya

Hello

I am regularly getting a pop up saying that my license/tech support expired on May 17 and if I wanted to get more information about renewing it. I am not looking for an upgrade right now but this pop up disrupts the automatic scripts that I have running on a remote box on a 24X7 basis.

What happens is that I have these automatic scripts running over 24 hours on a daily basis and then this pop up comes, which I don't know about, and the scripts stop as a result until I click No to get the pop up box to go away. I am not logged into this computer 24X7 so I am not aware of this issue unless I login, at which point it is too late. All the data that should have been collected is not there. Management runs reports based on this data, so it is always a problem when the data is not there.

My basic question is how do I prevent this popup box from showing up? Is there something that I can change in the regEdit file? Anything in configuration that I can do?

Thank you and Regards,
Priya

Yes, there is a way to turn it off. There is a setting in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SoftPerfect\SoftPerfect Connection Emulator\Global\RenewalReminderDate. It can be set to a value of some date in the future.

This example of .reg file postpones the next notification date by year 2050:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SoftPerfect\SoftPerfect Connection Emulator\Global]
"RenewalReminderDate"=hex:00,00,00,00,a0,c0,ea,40
