Application-specific limiting   20 December 2022, 10:16

Is there a way I can set my Bandwidth Manager to limit the download/upload of a specific program? I'm talking like a whole active program running on my computer, not just a website domain. Each app seems to change IPs and I don't know how I can set a limit rule for a specific app. Thanks!

For limiting the applications running of your computer we have a different product, NetGenius. It has a free fully-featured 30-day trial, so you are very welcome to download it and see if it does exactly what you want.

Bandwidth Manager is more suitable for shaping network traffic on a server for multiple users, whereas NetGenius was designed specifically for controlling applications.

Sometimes you can find a solution faster if you try the forum search, have a look at the knowledge base, or check the software user manual to see if your question has already been answered.

Our forum rules are simple:

  • Be polite.
  • Do not spam.
  • Write in English. If possible, check your spelling and grammar.
