LAN - about ignoring local traffic   04 November 2013, 16:09

Hello NetWorkx,

Your program is great.
Does everything it says it will, and I haven't had many problems.

I just have a question.
What does it mean, the option that says:
"Ignore local traffic within the LAN"?

And what does it do?
By local traffic, does it mean traffic in the LAN which does not
belong to my device?

Thank You,

Suppose you have a home network with a couple of computers in it and you play a computer game within that network, or you transfer a file from computer A to computer B.

That would be your internal or LAN traffic, metering which doesn't make sense because it's unlimited and you don't pay for it, unlike Internet traffic.

In simple words, if you transfer any data between computers in your home network, then you may need to exclude LAN traffic to prevent NetWorx from recording it.

Otherwise, if you only access Internet web-sites, your local traffic is negligible and it does not affect NetWorx reports much.
