Windows 8.1 BSOD 14 October 2014, 04:31 |
I have had Networx installed on two Windows 7 and two Windows 8.1 computers for over a year now. Unfortunately BSOD is a frequent occurrence with W8.1. Having run the Windows debugger on the memory dumps, it is quite clearly being caused by Networx. Uninstalled Networx about one week ago and no more BSOD on the two W8.1 machines. Shame because it's a very useful piece of software.

Unfortunately there isn't much we can do because the BSOD is caused by a third-party driver package that NetWorx relies upon.
If you had previously chosen the TDI driver to install, try reinstalling the latest version of NetWorx at which time choose the WFP driver to install and reboot. If you had chosen the WFP driver, try installing TDI instead and reboot. If both the drivers cause a BSOD and you still need to exclude local traffic, please use the following workaround with WinPCap:
In this case NetWorx will be using the WinPCap driver and you shouldn't have any stability issues again.

- Backup your usage and uninstall NetWorx.
- Download and install WinPCap.
- Install latest NetWorx again leaving the "LAN Traffic Filtering Driver" option unticked.
- When NetWorx starts, you should be able to choose one of your adapters prefixed with "Ignore LAN Traffic" from the drop-down list in the NetWorx settings.
