Graph notifications are not closing automatically   29 December 2024, 04:15

I'm 90% sure this is me being an idiot, but I can't find anything about this possible change in the release notes or prior threads, and I also don't see a setting for it.

I'm coming from version 5.5.5, and in that version the graph would come up when I hit my set threshold (e.g. 100 MB in 60 sec), but then after some period of time it would automatically disappear.

I've never seen the graph close/disappear automatically in version 7.2.1. I always have to do it with the hotkey, and I can't figure out if that's by design or a bug.

There has been a change in the application behaviour from version 5. In version 7, all features were redesigned, including the notification logic you are referring to.

Now, the graph displays when a set threshold is reached, but it won't automatically disappear as it used to. This change was implemented for a couple of reasons:
  • To ensure that the users who are away from their computer can see upon their return that the condition was triggered at least once.
  • To avoid closing the graph automatically in case the user opened it manually and actually wants to see it on the screen.
This behaviour is by design, not a bug.

OK, good to know, and I'm getting used to it.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the second case happened. If it was opened manually, it stayed open.
