How to use OS startup mechanisms instead of auto-run

I've read that the new RAM Disk version 26.4 doesn't support autostart anymore. In its changelog it says "Removed: Auto-run applications feature, as OS startup mechanisms should be used instead."

It says to use OS startup mechanisms, but doesn't say how (for me it's Windows 10). Can you please explain it in more detail?

In my research about autostart in Windows 10, I found no possibility to start a program after the RAM Disk is started and all RAM disks are mounted. I can write a batch file to start RAM Disk and then any other program, but I expect there is a better solution with such an advanced program like SoftPerfect RAM Disk.

In version 26.4, the logon-time volume type was removed. All RAM disks (except manual ones) are now mounted at system startup by the driver, which means they are created during the boot process, long before any user session begins.

By the time you log in and your startup applications run, all RAM disks are already mounted and available. Therefore you can simply place a shortcut to your application in the Windows Startup folder (press Win+R then type 'shell:startup'), or use Task Scheduler with an "At log on" trigger - the RAM disk drive letters will already be there.
