Slow mounting time for 24 GB RAM disk

I currently use the trial version of RAM Disk. I have a 24 GB RAM disk and 32 GB of Corsair RAM. I currently run an AMD FX-8350 system. I find that mounting the disk from my hard disk takes a long time, almost 3 to 4 minutes. I even thought it crashed as it was not responding in the top right corner of the menu. Is it normal for RAM disks to take so long to mount?

It sounds like you are using an image file with the RAM Disk. If so, and there is a 24 GB image, it does take a while to read from the HDD. For example 24,000 MB divided by 120 MB/s (reading speed of an average HDD) gives us 200 seconds, i.e nearly 3.5 minutes that you are experiencing.
If you only use the RAM Disk for temporary files, it makes sense to stop using the image file, in which case the RAM disk will mount in seconds.
