Hi

I've run into a problem. I can't install RAM Disk because it's saying: "Found an older version of the RAM Disk installed on your computer"

I have followed the instructions in the Knowledge Base: RAM Disk refuses to install - how to uninstall completely, but haven't been able to solve the problem.

To track back, I had RAM Disk installed on Windows Server 2016. I've now upgraded to Windows Server 2019 Essentials and therefore a new installation has been made (not a disk wipe). Somehow, it seems something was left there from the old 2016 installation of RAM Disk.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Two things can trigger that message:

1) Either at least one of these keys is still present

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SPVDPort
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SPVVEngine

2) Or there is ramdiskws.exe file still left in the RAM Disk installation folder.

Please double-check whether these have been removed.

Hey. Just wanted to say deleting those keys worked for me. For some reason the last key wasn't deleted already.
