"Saved your storage from additional wear" vs "Written back to disk"

In the About window, there is a section
Since installation, RAM File System has:
Processed X MB of data
Saved your storage from Y MB of additional wear
Written just Z MB back to disk
Is it normal that the amount of data written to a RAMFS disk ("Saved your storage from additional wear", Y MB) is less than the amount written back to an SSD disk ("Written back to disk", Z MB)?
Yes, that can happen, especially while the totals are still small.
The two lines measure different things:
"Saved your storage from Y MB of additional wear" is how much your programs have written to the RAM FS disk.
"Written just Z MB back to disk" is how much RAM FS itself has written to the image file or synced folder when saving.
RAM FS only saves what has changed, but it saves in blocks of 2 MB. So a small edit still rewrites the whole 2 MB block it sits in. Each save also writes the file and folder structure along with the image header, and occasionally a save has to rewrite the whole image (for example if the image file was changed outside RAM FS), including data that was loaded at startup rather than written since. If your statistics show only a few MB written so far, that overhead is enough to put the written-to-disk number above the saved-wear number.
With heavier use it normally goes the other way. A file rewritten many times between saves is saved only once, and temporary files deleted before a save never reach the disk at all.
