How to list devices by Ethernet or Wireless connectivity

Started by John

Hi:
I do not know whether it is possible for WiFi Guard software or not, but if a device was Ethernet-connected, it would likely be less invasive than if it were connected wirelessly. Listing them (or having that as a parameter) could be very useful.

Unfortunately there no way to tell if a device is connected by cable or wirelessly.

Theoretically, it could be deduced from the ping response time, which is usually higher for wireless connections, but this method is not reliable.
