How to avoid counting NAS traffic   02 August 2015, 00:51

Hi, I have tried all settings to avoid the count of the traffic generated by my NAS but without success. I want only count the Internet traffic.

To my modem/router (192.168.1.1) I have attached via wired my PC and the NAS. If I enable "Ignore local traffic within the LAN" the Internet traffic doesn't count anymore.

Thank you for any consideration

Try this workaround with WinPCap (though this article is not directly relevant to the issue, the WinPCap driver may work better for you).

If you're monitoring All Connections with the [ ] box ticked for Ignore local..., you should also be able to click the [Setup] button.

That will take you to the IP Address Range Manager window where you can exclude all local addresses EXCEPT your router.

1) You'll have to delete the range:
from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

2) You'll have to define two ranges:
from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.1.0 and
from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.255.255

That should record your 192.168.1.1 router traffic (it's not excluded).

Or just exclude the NAS IP address, you didn't give enough information for me to be more specific...
