Unattended installation   23 October 2020, 10:15

Greetings,
Does the NetWorx software support unattended installs using any kind of answer file for the settings?

Regards,

You can install NetWorx using
networx_setup.exe /SILENT
in the command line. This will install it automatically, without user intervention.

To install specific components only, use
/COMPONENTS="comma separated list of component names"
where the available components are:
  • main (the application itself)
  • deskband (the taskbar extension)
  • netfilter (LAN traffic filtering driver)

If you want NetWorx to have specific settings, you can replace its initial database with all the settings. To do that,
  1. Download portable version of NetWorx to a folder.
  2. Set the settings the way you want.
  3. Quit NetWorx and you will find NETWORX.DB in that folder.
  4. Copy the file to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\SoftPerfect\NetWorx\ after NetWorx was installed on a new computer.

Good greetings!

When using the command
networx_setup.exe /SILENT /COMPONENTS="deskband"
silent install works fine, but I still get the message "do you want to integrate the program into deskband", despite the use of /COMPONENTS="deskband"

It means that the installation is no longer silent. Is there a solution?

It's a Windows built-in message that pops up when the desk band is registered. Unfortunately this message cannot be suppressed as it is there specifically to avoid apps jamming themselves into the taskbar without permission from the user.
