My Quota not updating...

Install Networx on the other computer and then sync the traffic stats to your pc. This is explained in the Help. Your pc is only measuring your traffic, not the other one. J

Shadow Protect problem

11 years ago, by Praxis in RAM Disk Forum

Just a 'heads up': I just tried to create a back up image with Shadow Protect but found that while a RAM disk was present, Shadow Protect would not 'connect', i.e. it wouldn't display the drives present on the system. As soon as I deleted the RAM disks, Shadow Protect would 'connect'. It subsequently failed when backing up to a drive connected to a USB3 port, but it did work when the same dr

Did you try to delete the Disk through the Command line interface.?

How to delete a RamDisk

You should: -Unmount the Image then -Unmount the Disk and lastly -Change the settings to not automatically load with Windows At this point you could also delete the Disk, if not through the GUI then through the Command line interface. Very easy to do, doesn't need a new release. Spend some time reading the Help.

Networx desk band problem

11 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

Think for a minute. If you were the programmer.... How wide would you make the deskband if someone wanted it to show the graph, 1", 1.5", 2"? If you picked any default width, there would always be someone to complain that it was too wide or not wide enough. It's better to let each user re-size it to suit their needs. Would you want to include code, which you give away

Networx desk band problem

You can resize the deskband very easily, it doesn't need to be done automatically. You can hover over the tray icon to see (for example) Daily Traffic or, with a single click, see Monthly traffic. Networx is free, it seems that you want it to be like DU Meter, which is not free, so you can avoid paying for DU Meter

Ignore Local Traffic + All Connections-only option for auto start in user acct

11 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

I don't mean to be rude but why don't you just do it and look at the results? The totals are exactly the same IF you have had some traffic and then wait a minute after a period of no traffic activity for the Graph totals to 'catch up' to SpeedMeter. Your focus seems to be on imagining problems that don't exist rather than implementing what's been suggested. Here's how... - log off the in

Ignore Local Traffic + All Connections-only option for auto start in user acct

Hi Andrew, Perhaps making this the default config for new installs would help. Most folks only want internet traffic. The same would apply for the portable version. Then for those interested in monitoring traffic within the LAN, and excluding the internet, there could be another check box for "Monitor LAN traffic" although it would be nice to have this option ignore the constant A

Download SoftPerfect's Wi-Fi Guard and you'll see all the wireless devices in range of your adapter. Then, set Networx to: 1) monitor your wireless adapter interface -plus- 2) put a tickmark in the box to Ignore local traffic, because there's a lot of local traffic between local devices as they check to see what's out there and to let others know they're active, known as ARP, IGMP,

Quotewhy would you run in admin mode for general use & especially for internet? Because there's nothing important to steal and nothing can run unless I let it. If I were to pick up something bad, next boot, I'm back to a clean system. I have images on 4 different drives to restore if necessary, but apart from 2 drive failures, I've never had to. You might want to install NW and keep a portable to see if you get the same results as I see on my system. My portables are started by shortcuts in my Startup folder. My portables always have the option to monitor the interface for "Ignore local...". My portables appear to use the Networx driver(s) rather than the WinPCap driver which may explain the line above. There are 10 screen

Thanks for the tip re: IrfanView. I created two icons in a Custom Icons folder, networx1.ico and networx2.ico and copied them to the respective folders, then renamed them to networx.ico. They now clearly differentiate the networx instance in the systray. I realized that my original naming convention was wrong because it didn't allow the thumbnail display of the icon image. I've confused you, I'm sorry. There can be only one installed instance because of the registry settings required, there's no option here, that's the way the installer works, there is no second installed version. There can be many portable instances because there are no registry settings. Database locations: The folder "G:\portable" is not for only Networx, it's for all 'portable'

Comparing router to device to Ignore local traffic within the LAN: Microsoft

1) D-Link is NW portable version, check box is greyed out, can't tick it. 2) WAN from router is always slightly higher than NW monitoring the router is always slightly higher than my ISP billing. So, if my ISP is absolutely correct, NW and the router are very correct because they're within a fraction of a percent of the ISP. 3) Because I'm very good at math and system analysis.

The Portable monitoring the D-Link showed a continuous low volume traffic totaling about 6MB/hour. The other tw
