Re: Importing IP List: lines have been discarded
11 years ago, by Andrew in Network Scanner Forum
It's the standard behaviour of the built-in Windows conversion routine. QuoteThe parts that make up an address in "." notation can be decimal, octal or hexadecimal as specified in the C language. Numbers that start with "0x" or "0X" imply hexadecimal. Numbers that start with "0" imply octal. All other numbers are interpreted as decimal.
Re: MAC Addresses Not Correct on 64Bit App
11 years ago, by Andrew in Network Scanner Forum
It's not related to the bitness. It's the MAC address resolution order. It's happening because for any IP address outside of your subnet, the router responds with its own MAC address rather than target node's MAC address. You just need to change the following settings to fix it: go to Options - Settings - Additional - Resolve MAC address. Reorder the entires as: Router MIB query NetBio
Re: Desk Band and Usage Report detects zero traffic if 'Ignore local traffic' is enabled

At different times NetWorx builds included either a TDI (Transport Driver Interface) or WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) driver for LAN traffic filtering. Unfortunately it seems the former did not work correctly for some users, while the latter did not work for others. This could be because of a combination of third party products installed on their computers. As of today, NetWorx gives you

Check in processes for networx.exe, is it still there?

Not sure if this is related, but there was a bug in NetWorx that in certain circumstances led to memory corruption. Please download and install this build to see if it helps.

These are just random meaningless characters. It does not mean you have some Chinese software. It's a bug in NetWorx that we're currently investigating.

I am glad to advise that this problem has been fixed in the latest build.

Thank you, I have reproduced it and confirm the issue. Stay tuned for a fix

As the investigation has shown, it was the Windows firewall. Anyone facing the same issue, please turn it off or permit all network activity to the BM service.

If I understand you correctly: One network differentiates LAN and Internet traffic The other network does not differentiate traffic These networks are accessed with one WiFi card Then your way to go will be having an installed version and a portable instance. Configure the installed instance to ignore LAN traffic and to be only active when connected to network A. Configure the portable in
RAM Disk doesn't show mounted disk
11 years ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk Forum
The RAM disk software works with both RAM disks and Image files. Most likely you have just mounted an image and not a RAM disk (via Image Create/Mount/Unmount in the main menu). These are not shown in the main screen. To create a RAM Disk choose Disk - Add or Disk - Add Boot Disk from the main menu and it will appear in the list of disks.

This may be more difficult then. By saying you have two wireless networks, do you mean: 1) Two wireless networks to which you connected with two wireless cards at the same time or 2) Two wireless networks to which you connect separately (one or the other) with one wireless card.

It's a bunch of random Chinese character and they appear because of a bug in NetWorx. Quite a few users have reported and I am currently investigating this.

Then I recommend to have two portable instances in different folders. Each can be set to monitor a specific network only.

Generally two or more portable instances work well. What do you need the two instances for?
Issues with Task Manager in Windows 8.1 x64

I would really appreciate if you could enable kernel memory dumps as explained here and try the latest RAM disk build. If it works, that's great. If not, we'll have valuable information for identifying and fixing this issue.
Settings windows visible op startup

Not sure what you mean as we haven't changed anything in that area in the latest release. What do you mean by clicking the wrong part of the window may result in exiting?

Sounds like it should work. Please save your ruleset to a DB file and post here or email to support at softperfect.com and I will have a look.
Issues with Task Manager in Windows 8.1 x64

Tick the HDD emulation option on in the RAM Disk's properties. It may be a bit slower, but unfortunately that's the only workaround yet.

The current devices window can be resized freely as you can see below. We'll make the Known devices window bigger and resizeable, thank you.

What IP address is assigned to the NIC that faces the LAN? Can you ping that IP address from a LAN computer?
Re: Redirecting http requests from a particular IP to an external web address
11 years ago, by Andrew in Bandwidth Manager Forum
Yes, it's possible. However it only works for incoming connections (that is those coming to or through the BM machine) and you need to be cautious not to create a circular loop, where the redirect gets caught again and is redirected again, etc. What's your scenario?

Have you tried clearing the list of applications?
11 years ago, by Andrew in Bandwidth Manager Forum
There is, however it's not guaranteed. Some connections and P2P applications can still pass through. First, make sure P2P is ticked here: Then in the advanced rule settings tick P2P and set that rule's rate limit to Blocked: A better approach would be to use so called penalties, which allow you to restrict connections. For example, if you throttle any connection that has downloaded mo

First, you have to turn on the IP-to-Friendly Name mapping Once this is done, you can click any IP address dead or alive and assign a friendly name to it as shown below

We seem to have fixed the locking issue. Please try the latets build and let me know if it works okay. You will need to uninstall your existing installation first and reboot.
