New beta version

10 years ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk Forum

The beta-version has been updated today to include bug fixes in the kernel driver and a couple of improvements in the application itself: it's now possible to create an image directly from the Add Disk dialog and it's a RAM disk with image file attached can be flushed to file manually.

Re: How to decrease torrent download rates if they exceed certain limit

10 years ago, by Andrew in Bandwidth Manager Forum

The easiest way to discourage long downloads would be to use the penalties as shown below. You may want to set the large transfers penalty to 1 MB and 50%. As the result, as soon as any TCP connection transfers more than 1 MB, it will be slowed down to 50% of the rule's rate limit. This applies both to Torrent downloads and watching on-line videos, or any other heavy usage.

Synchronize total networx data in different computers

Yes, automatic dialling is supported in the same way as before. Sorry, we don't keep older versions. You can probably still find it on third-party download sites.

3) The installed and portable versions won't work together. However, the idea of having a portable copy of NetWorx will. You could have portable NetWorx on your PC1 most of the time, then take it to PC2 whenever you are using it, and finally return it to PC1 replacing the old copy. 5) Yes, you can. Don't install the LAN traffic filtering driver though as you don't need it.

Bandwidth Manager 2013

10 years ago, by Andrew in Bandwidth Manager Forum

This could be because of an issue with the port mapping when a network card had both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses assigned. I recommend to try the latest build as the issue has been fixed. Also disable the built-in Windows firewall completely. Please let me know if this helps.

Bookmarks

There is some documentation here under Tips and tricks. Just specify a vertical bar to create groups of items. For example, try naming your bookmarks as: Network A | Subnet 1 Network A | Subnet 2 Nested groups are okay too. This is what it will look like.

Error INvalid character Line 1 Pos 1 in wifi guard.cfg

It has to be there. So what is the exact path that WiFi Guard complains about at startup? Also, what folders do you see if you are trying to follow that path?

Synchronize total networx data in different computers

NetWorx instances could sync with each other if the computes were networked. As they are not, there is no way to sync the usage. I recommend if you use NetWorx in this way, you should use the portable edition and carry it between these two computers. It may even be possible to put NetWorx on your USB modem if it supports USB mass storage, so that wherever your USB modem goes NetWorx goes with i

5.2.9 install questions

10 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

It's up to you. If you were using WinPCap without any issues, I'd recommend to stick to that choice as version 5.2.9 supports WinPCap as well. You can install any version of NetWorx on top of the previous installation. In fact, you should do so to retain past usage records.

Error invalid character Line 1 Pos 1 in wifi guard.cfg

You just need to delete this file. Somehow the config file has been corrupted and if you delete it, it will be recreated. In order to see some of the folders in that path, you may need to turn on showing hidden folders.

Application usage tracking

10 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Hi Praxis, This seems to be local multicast traffic related to UPnP requests sent out by svchost.exe. NetWorx has got a erroneously narrower IP address range specified. If you click the Setup button next to the Ignore LAN traffic tick box, you will see an entry of 224.0.0.0 to 224.0.0.255. This is not quite right and I have just fixed this. You can correct it in your instance. This entry

Networx Popup Menu appears every time Networx starts

10 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

You are somehow launching two instances of NetWorx. It could be two networx.exe being launched from two separate folders, or somehow you ended up with two startup links to NetWorx. I recommend to search all your disks for networx.exe, and then check where it's launched from by using this utility.

Try using the latest build from the snapshots. It should now correctly resolve the system processes that were previously recorded as Unknown.

Perhaps you have unticked the Install LAN traffic filtering driver option when installing NetWorx.
