Some network activity is not monitored

When using NetGenius, you may notice that it does not display some network activity. For example, when you copy files from your computer to a network drive or a shared folder, or play a video from another device. This is normal behaviour.

Windows is designed in such a way that this type of traffic (file sharing, or SMB protocol) originates from the SYSTEM process and is usually local (not Internet). As this traffic can't be attributed to a specific application, NetGenius ignores it. In addition, since this traffic does not consume Internet data allowance and doesn't normally affect user privacy or security, there is little reason for monitoring it.
