This is good news, Ann. Thank you very much. I will give the latest build a try as soon as I can.

Thank you, Andrew. I will give an older version of WiFi Guard a try and see how it works here. Your help is much appreciated.

Re: No automatic scanning after boot

Maybe I should add that WiFi Guard does start with Windows, but WiFi Guard does not start scanning on its own. The scanning process always needs to be triggered by the user. The screenshot I added is a bit misleading because the time of the next scan is not shown when the app starts scanning. Unfortunately, I was not able to make a screenshot before WiFi Guard starts scanning. As soon as I trigger

Re: No automatic scanning after boot

Scheduled scanning is enabled in the Settings as shown in my screenshot. However, the status bar is empty. Only when I click the WiFi Guard icon does the app start scanning my network. If I don't click the icon, no scans are performed and the status remains "Idle". I don't remember having this issue with older versions of WiFi Guard. Apart from that, the issue concerning the WiFi Gua

No automatic scanning after boot

I'm using the latest version of WiFi Guard. Whenever I turn on my computer (Win 11 Pro 23H2), WiFi Guard does start with Windows, but the list of devices remains empty. Only when I click on the WiFi Guard icon in the system will the app start scanning. If I don't click on the icon, no devices are shown and the status remains "Idle". Is this a bug or a feature? I thought WiFi Guard wou

I have upgraded to the newest version of WiFi Guard, which works as expected. Well done. Thank you very much.

No problems so far with the latest build. WiFi Guard has so far always remembered the correct screen coordinates.

I spoke too soon. When I fired up my computer this morning, the bug mentioned in my first post was back.

I installed the WiFi Guard build you released on 5 Sep a couple of minutes ago and rebooted my computer. Guess what? WiFi Guard remembered the correct screen coordinates! I do hope this will also be the case when I boot up my computer tomorrow morning, but it does seem as if the bug I reported above has been fixed with the latest build. Well done. Thank you very much.

As far as I know, WiFi Guard remembers its last window position even after a reboot, but this does not seem to be the case when I boot up my computer after a couple of hours/days. Anyway, it's not really a problem, but maybe this can be fixed sooner or later. Again, thank you very much for your help.

Thanks for your reply. WiFi Guard always appears where I placed it before I quit the app. However, this is not the case when I boot up my computer the next morning and open WiFi Guard for the very first time of the day. As mentioned above, I did not encounter this problem when I used older versions of the app.

Application window opens too far to the right of the screen

When I turn on my computer and click the WiFi Guard icon in system tray, the WiFi Guard GUI is not displayed in the middle of the screen (please see attached screenshot). It's not a big deal, but maybe this can be fixed. I did not have this problem with older versions of WiFi Guard. Thanks in advance for your help. A new WiFi Guard pre-release was published on 27 Jan 2023. Is there a changelog for the new build? Just curious.

Thank you so much for the new build and your top-notch support. Yes, the latest build is definitely a major improvement. Now I can find all my connected devices in the WiFi Guard device list. Great! And yes, the issue where the disconnected devices stayed for too long in the device list is also resolved. I connected my mobile phone to the network and Wifi Guard immediately detected it. As soon

Re: Some active devices are not detected and some inactive devices persist

I have just repeated the test I carried out earlier this week: (1) I scanned my network with WiFi Guard three times in a row. Always the same result: WiFi Guard only detected my router and my computer, but it failed to detect three mobile phones that were also connected to my network. And no, the mobile phones were not in hibernation or sleep mode. (2) Then I scanned my network with Wireless

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I will use both WiFi Guard and Wireless Network Watcher for the time being. Maybe it will be possible for you to reproduce this issue. Again, thanks very much for your help and support. PS: I have just scanned my network with WiFi Guard, result: 3 devices found (which is wrong because 4 of my devices are currently connected to my network). Then I scanned

QuoteAnnIf by "unplugged a laptop from router" you mean a physical cable, then, if your laptop has WiFi (almost all of them do), it can still be connected to the network and that's what WiFi Guard detects. Yes, I mean a physical cable. The thing is that the laptop had not been in my house for three hours when WiFi Guard still detected it. WiFi Guard stopped detecting my laptop after it h

Some active devices are not detected and some inactive devices persist

I unplugged a laptop from my router more than three hours ago, but WiFi Guard says it's still active. Is this a bug or a feature? There are currently more than five active devices in my network, but WiFi Guard does not "see" them all. So WiFi Guard detects some devices that are no longer active but fails to detect some other devices that have been active for many hours. Is there anyt

Explanation of the Scanning Options

1 year ago, by Buddel in WiFi Guard Forum

In WiFi Guard settings, the scanning options can be set to scan a certain number of devices simultaneously - "Scan this many devices simultaneously". What exactly does that mean and how does it work? I couldn't find anything in the user manual. Another scanning option on the Advanced tab says it is possible to "Get web-page title from HTTP enabled devices". How do I get such
