symbolic links are gone after reboot
12 years ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk Forum
QuoteWill "mounted on boot" option resolve problems with updates and software that require restart during installation? No. However, there aren't many applications that require temporary files to be present after a reboot. I myself have been using a volatile RAM disk for Windows temporary files for a couple of years without any major issues. QuoteI've used junction and "mklink&

It seems to be an issue in the development environment that we use to build WiFi Guard. I'll check what we can do about it.
TDiskTB: Database lock protocol error: locking protocol
12 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
Well, this error is returned by SQLite and is SQLITE_PROTOCOL, for which the official documentation says QuoteThis value is returned if some other process is messing with file locks and has violated the file locking protocol that SQLite uses on its rollback journal files. Although we're using SQLite in a few software products, this is the first time I see this error in years. I would assume s

There should be a way to make the modem always use the same MAC address.

While it's possible to add the Per Year tab, it would supposedly be of interest for very few users. At the same time, I'd like to keep NetWorx as simple as possible, without having dozens of tabs and hundreds of settings. I agree with Praxis, that if someone has a statistical interest in knowing how much more he downloaded in 2009 than in 2010, it may be easy to use a text file or spreadshe

These are the messages from Windows error log. Unfortunately that's not sufficient to determine the cause. I need to see the error messages from the bandwidth manager's log please. Even better, please export all your rules to a .DB file and email it to me via support facility.

Since I can only speak for NetWorx, the 10% different may be explained as follows: 1. When any LAC traffic is ignored in NetWorx, it does not record packet headers also known as TCP/IP overhead. 2. When any LAN traffic is ignored, it includes Windows broadcast messages. The best way to find out the truth is to download a file of the known size, and see which meter's readings match. Or eve

How much is drastically? 10%, twice, tenfold?
Blocking everything else exept preconfigured MAC address

Yes, and it must be the last rule.
Blocking everything else exept preconfigured MAC address
12 years ago, by Andrew in Bandwidth Manager Forum
Yes, it is. Just add a blocking rule at the end of the ruleset, something like this: Source: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.255 (your LAN range) Destination: Any Protocol: TCP/UDP Rate: Blocked

No idea, but you can export your config to a plain-text XML file and search it for old credentials.
Logged on network users not displaying

Yes, it does. Another thing you may want to try is to enable NetBios on every machine as it exposes the logged-on user name, and the network scanner may be able to pick it up.
Re: Windows 2000 compatible NetWorx version

It will not work on Windows 2000 and will complain about a missing function. Also version 5.2.7 did not already work on Windows 2000 either. We have version 5.2.6 available to everyone still using Windows 2000: Download Installer | Download Portable

Need to track only one of the two dial-up connections.

I have added a filter for the dial-up session log, which may actually solve the OP's issue. It can be downloaded here.

Then simply choose that connection in the drop-down list of network connections to be monitored.

What do you want to track for these connections: time they were on or amount of data downloaded?

It seems to have been fixed now. Could you please download this build, install it over your current installation and reboot? Let me know if the issue persists.

Re: Suggestion: Make application windows non-modal

In the latest build the WOL manager window was made non-modal. Btw, not sure if you knew this, but it's actually possible to send MAC addresses directly to the WOL manager:

You can safely use the portable edition of version 5.2.9. It does not have any issues. In fact all the changes in 5.2.9 apply to the installable version only.

Sorry, I can't really tell. This version from the link provided has been modified (our digital signature and timestamp removed), so I am not sure what build it actually is.

This option does not reduce the size a disk takes up in the RAM. It however reduces the space taken up by files on that disk. If you are using an image file, you just need format your disk for NTFS and tick the option there.

Please post your XML file here or email it through support and I will get this fixed for you.
