In order to turn off host availability checking clear these checkboxes I will add a "Do not show this again" option to the other warning dialogs.

Win7 computers don't see XP instance of networx

11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

That's how firewalls work: allow specific activities and disallow others. For NetWorx both incoming and outgoing connections must be allowed via TCP/UDP port 8703.

Check or disable firewalls on these machines.

Re: Does Wifi Guard also detect wired computers?

It detects all computers (both wired and wireless).

Well technically it's just a list of strings "key=value". It can be 1.2.3.4 = My server or AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF = My server or mysrv1 = My server. The network scanner needs to know which one of these to use when displaying friendly names. If you choose Map IP address, it will take the values from the IP address column and display a name for each IP address. If y

This list can only contain items of the same type, e.g. IP address, or MAC address or host name. If you change the drop-down box to Map MAC to Friendly Name, it will also automatically change the assignment dialog:

Dial-up session not recording all sessions

1. Sorry this is not reproducible. Unless you can identify when exactly that happens, I am afraid I cannot fix it. 2. Make sure you have selected the correct network interface to monitor.

Networks driver cause BSD

11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Unfortunately I have no control over and cannot fix this issue as it's caused by a third-party driver NetWorx uses. There is a workaround though: 1. Backup your usage. 2. Uninstall NetWorx. 3. Reinstall NetWorx with the Install LAN traffic filtering driver option unticked. 4. Install WinPCap if you need to filter out local traffic. Restart NetWorx and choose your network adapter marked

Problem with v 5.2.7 and TL-PS310U printer server

Try the following: 1. Backup your usage. 2. Uninstall version 5.2.2. 3. Install version 5.2.7 with the Install LAN traffic filtering driver option unchecked. 4. Install WinPCap and restart NetWorx. 5. Now select your adapter in the drop down list. It will be marked as "Ignore local traffic".

My Quota not updating...

Is this all connected as follows? <USB dongle> - <Your Computer with Connectify> - <Another computer accessing the Internet via your computer> If so, selecting the USB dongle should really work. Try selecting the actual 3G device, rather than "All dial-up connection".

Can't enter router IP addresses with more than 2 digits

This is quite strange. I was reported a similar case, however it remains unreproducible and a mystery. Have you got any third-party Windows shell or skins installed, or something like this?

Network per day, month usage report problems

Martin, you need to go to the NetWorx main settings and choose your wireless adapter under Monitored Interfaces. You should be able to figure out which one is your wireless adapter by looking at their names.

Re: Incorrect "Last Seen" data - fixed

This bug has been fixed in the latest builds. You can download a fresh copy and install over your existing one. Then click the Forget button against those devices with incorrect dates. They'll have a correct date whenever they are discovered again.

Unable to scan Mac Address

Most likely your ISP has implemented AP isolation so clients can't communicate any longer.

Other applications can no longer read database

11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Since version 5.2.3 the database mode has changed from a rollback journal to WAL (this wasn't mentioned in the change log). Older versions of SQLite access libraries may not be able read a WAL-mode database. I suggest that you download a copy of SQLiteSpy. If it opens the database OK and reads the tables, then it means the database is fine and you may need to update your VB.NET access l

Can't find this so called "toolbar" option?

No worries I will change the wording in the installer to emphasise that an empty area needs to be clicked.

Are you using the installer or the portable version? The toolbar is only available with the installable version. Also you need to click an empty area on the taskbar, not the icon. See here for more details.

Most likely it's a bug, but I need to see a screenshot of this happening. If possible, please take a screenshot and post it here.

WiFi Guard does not see wireless devices

11 years ago, by Andrew in WiFi Guard Forum

It seems that in case if the AP isolation is turned on, devices can only connect to the Internet and cannot communicate with each other. In this case the WiFi Guard presently won't be able to detect these devices. I however have an idea how to detect such devices by asking the router about them. Not every router supports this, but I guess it still could help some users.

WiFi Guard does not see wireless devices

11 years ago, by Andrew in WiFi Guard Forum

It's hard to tell, possibly there is some sort of firewall in the router blocking the communication between hardwired and WiFi-connected devices. Can you, for example, ping the wireless laptop's WiFi address?

It will be re-added once that device is detected on the network again.

Ignore Local Traffic + All Connections-only option for auto start in user acct

Ignore Local Traffic + All Connections-only option for auto start in user acct

11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

The difference may be caused by what's called protocol overhead or the fact that there was actually some background traffic. It also seems that SF thinks there is 10000000 bytes in a megabyte. In either case, it's not guaranteed you will get a reading matching your ISP's records. Up to a 10% difference is normal.

Ignore Local Traffic + All Connections-only option for auto start in user acct

11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

When All Connections is selected NetWorx merely queries the number of received and sent bytes on all available adapters and sums it all app. Generally it's not recommended to use this option as it likely to include virtual adapters that you don't want to monitor. This could double or triple the usage or otherwise give incorrect readings. When the Ignore LAN checkbox is ticked, as I said the sel

It is hard to tell what's happening in your system. We also don't have MS Vista for tests due to its insignificant market share. Now, if we install WinPCap latest version (allowing it to start automatically) and NetWorx, it all works correctly without administrative privileges or elevation. Here I have opened NetWorx settings after a reboot: As to why the interface selection changes to A
