Hi Gavin, QuoteIf I assign only a source in the own rate limit, will it automatically do it for destination as well under the one stream? Yes, it's automatically reversed. For example, to and to would be one stream. You'll see right away in the list of streams. QuoteHow long does a stream stay before it expires or is removed automatically? The default setting is 6 months, it's how l

Well if there's still demand for it, we'll add it again. It's not gone forever.
Re: Unrecognised device, MAC address all zeros

It definitely shouldn't be like this. Could you please take a screen shot or post the text output of the arp -van command when the WiFi Guard happens to show zero MAC addresses?
Re: Impossible to "Follow router instead of computer"

It's quite strange, but would be inclined to think it's a firewall issue. Try disabling your firewall completely and see if it helps.

It's doesn't really seem to be required as the main view has got the throughput column where you can see all rules traffic at once (and sort by it).

There is another mechanism you can use, but you will need to download the latest build for it. Initially it was designed for making batch files to simplify administrative tasks. You can use it this way or to generate a list of rows and columns in whatever combination you need. Select the rows you'd like to include, choose Actions - Create Batch File from the main menu and type in the column
Feature request for B and C class buttons

There is no really no need in them, because: 1. If you are scanning your own network, there is an automatic address range detection: 2. If you have an IP address in the clipboard, hit Ctrl + P and see what happens: Hope this helps.

The .DB format is replacing XML as a means of backing up, transferring and restoring data. Unlike XML in the past, the .DB format contains a complete set of bandwidth manager's data, including settings and usage records. By the way, even though it's a binary format, it's a standard SQLite database that can be edited if needed. We will add a way to use configuration files from BM 2.x, howev

We have exciting news for BM users: we are glad to announce a brand new release. As the previous v2.9 branch was no longer suitable for further development due to certain design issues and obsolete codebase, this new release is a result of a complete redevelopment of the product with performance, stability and maintainability in mind. Major new features of this release include: Full IPv6

Not sure if you really need a copy or selective save feature, but selective saving is there already To prevent some columns from being saved, you can hide them. See View - Visible Columns. The columns that are not visible, are not saved. To prevent some rows from being saved, you can use the filter to hide them. Hidden rows are not saved. But I guess you are looking for something more li

Network Scanner Behavior Win XP vs Win 7
11 years ago, by Andrew in Network Scanner Forum
No, it shouldn't be a TCP/IP stack or bitness issue. There could be a few reasons: 1. Different masks were used in the IP configurations. Say, you could have 255.0.0.0 on the old machine and 255.255.255.0 on the new machine. 2. Different MAC resolution settings. Make sure all the methods are ticked and are in this order: 3. Possibly stricter built-in Windows 7's firewall settings.

No, it sounds more like a bug in the WiFi Guard. What version are you using?
11 years ago, by Andrew in Network Scanner Forum
The network scanner allows this through the use of loadable configuration files, so you not only can have scan-specific columns but also any other specific settings related to a particular scan type. For example, you could configure it for "Printers" scan and save that configuration file as printers. Then configure it for "Computers hardware info" and save it as a separate file

No, there isn't. The idea is that if all your IP addresses are static, you use names mapped to the IP addresses. If all or some of your IP addresses are dynamic, you use names to the MAC addresses. Finally, if IP addresses are dynamic and MAC addresses cannot be resolved (in a different subnet) you can map to the host names.

There are two RAM disk types available. 1) Disks created and mounted when the system starts. Those are created via Disk - Add Boot Disk. 2) Disks created and mounted when a user logs on. Those are created via Disk - Add Disk. Now if you want to have an on-demand disk, create the latter via Disk - Add Disk. This disk remembers its mount state. If you click Unmount the disk will be dism

There is a tool called Link Shell Extension that allows to move some files to a different disk and link to them. You can try placing some games files on the RAM disk and create links to them in their original location. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately this RAM disk requires the SSE2 instruction set support. It won't work on an old CPU.
monitor all devices using wireless broadband

When you choose to monitor all traffic on all network interfaces, possibly including local traffic or multiple adapters including virtual and dial-up ones and sums it all up. This may lead to excessive download readings.
11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
Then for some reason NetWorx couldn't detect it. Do you have anything from the following list installed: VirtualBox, NetLimiter, Eset Personal Firewall, OnlineArmor, any PC Tools products?

Is your modem visible in that drop-down list?
11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
Make sure you have selected the correct network interface to monitor in the NetWorx settings.
11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
Please explain what you mean by "can't get it to monitor" as it could be: 1. NetWorx does not start or crashes. 2. NetWorx reports zero activity. 3. NetWorx reports incorrect values. All these are different issues.
monitor all devices using wireless broadband

With NetWorx you basically have got two options: 1. Install NetWorx on every computer on your network. This can only be done if all your computers are running Windows. While NetWorx can only monitor traffic on the computer where it is installed, instances of NetWorx can talk to each other so that each instance is synchronised and shows the actual overall usage. The synchronisation needs to

Toggle to switch upload / download with SNMP and other stuff

Yes, I have been asked this several time already. Now planning to add a line monitor, similar to the app you are referring to, that could chart ping times, log line outages and uptime. Another major feature I'd like to add is monitoring per application, that is how much data each application consumes.

I have added a new setting to allow you to swap RX and TX. Download a fresh copy here. Then go to the hidden settings and toggle 'Swap uploads and downloads'.
Queries about Graph and Desk Band
11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
1. This is the minimum size. 2. No, there isn't. 3. It's not possible, because if the "data all" colour is not present, either download or upload will obscure its counterpart, and such a graph won't be useful. The "data all" colour represents the colour with which the value will be shown when both in and out traffic has been recorded. For example if you define Blue fo

I have added an audible alert on detection. See under the advanced settings in the latest build.
11 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
You just need to choose ONE specific network interface to monitor in the settings. As installed NetWorx is monitoring all traffic on all network interfaces, possibly including local traffic or multiple adapters including virtual and dial-up ones and sums it all up. This might result in incorrect readings.
