Re: How to change graph units to KB for smaller values

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Thank you for reporting this issue. We have just fixed it and published a new build. Please download and install it over your current installation. The application will now start correctly and you will be able to change the 0 KB fixed Y axis to something else. Please note that the Y-axis may still show in megabits. If you want the display to be in kilobytes, you will need to change a couple of

Please make sure you are using the latest version (7.0.2), as we have fixed a number of issues since the initial release of v7. You can download the latest version from NetWorx product page and install it over your current installation. If you have version 7.0.2 and it still crashes, please send us a copy of the database with all the settings. We will then identify what is causing this issue. F

It sounds like the Management Console is not connected to the System Service. Simply open the Management Console and click the 'Connect to' button. Then type 'localhost' without quotes and click OK. This should connect to the service and start displaying data.

Re: Top gap and drops on histogram graph

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Thanks, it was indeed an oversight with the extra empty space above the graph. If you download the latest build and install it over your current installation, this issue should be resolved. Unfortunately we have been unable to reproduce the drops so far, but we might be able to look into it better when we have more details about this issue, for example if some users can point out what exactly c

Re: No data shown in the Usage Report

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Any usage is always recorded whether it's marked peak, off-peak or unmetered. In the default settings the reports show both peak and off-peak combined, so peak/off-peak hour allocation does not matter: Unmetered however, as the name suggests, is the traffic you don't care about, so it's not shown in any report.

Bug: Overlapping PC names under the graph in Computer Usage Report - Fixed

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Thanks for reporting this issue. Since computer names can't contain spaces that could have been used for breaking up longer names, we have simply limited the output with a maximum of 5 characters. This should look better. The new builds can be downloaded here.

The inclusion of updates goes by time, not by the major version numbers. Please check your update period in the About dialog in your current version 6. If it has not expired, you are can update without re-purchasing to any version 7.x released within your update period:

Re: How to search for an IPv6 range

Absolutely! IPv6 scanning has been supported in the Network Scanner for a long time. There are two ways of doing it: IPv6 address range The Network Scanner runs from the lowest to the highest IP address. Due to a very large pool of possible addresses, only up to four last octets can vary. In practice, probably only the last two, for example 2001:db8::1 to 2001:db8::ffff. This can be useful w

As many users requested, the Show Graph menu was removed, and now the graph can be open by clicking an adapter name directly in the popup menu: If this item is not present, please check the list of monitored adapters:

For that there is a separate setting that is in the hidden settings. Simply press Ctrl + O (letter) in the Settings window and change Display Format to any of the following: 0 for automatic 1 for kilobits/kilobytes 2 for megabits/megabytes 3 for gigabit/gigabytes Update: in version 7.1.1 this became the Speed setting on the Main tab in the ordinary Settings.

Re: NetWorx version 7

We have updated the SNMP implementation and it should now work with any device that supports it. It is also possible to choose a specific version of the protocol, so you can choose 1 or 2 to see which works. The latest builds can be downloaded here.

Re: NetWorx version 7

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

With ASUS, it is probably related to the fact that NetWorx v7 defaults to SNMPv2, which uses bulk requests that may not work well with some devices. We'll check this out and publish an update soon where you will be able to choose a specific SNMP version.

Re: Request: Transparent background in the taskbar

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

It's a little tricky in the latest version, because NetWorx now uses anti-aliased drawing, which doesn't very nice with transparency. However, you can simply set the background to the colour identical to your Windows taskbar, and it will look exactly as if it were transparent. For matching the colour perfectly you can use this free Color Picker or any other colour tool.

Re: NIC config: internal bridging

1 year ago, by Andrew in Bandwidth Manager Forum

The documentation is correct about the mask being 255.255.255.255. In that example, NIC2 was configured "cheaper". It would make Windows access any 192.168.0.x address via NIC2, including the 192.168.0.1 gateway. To make Windows access 192.168.0.1 via NIC1, while any other 192.168.0.x via NIC2, we add a route to the 192.168.0.1 gateway address only.

The NOT NULL constraint issue hasn't been so far reproducible in our tests. But we hope we have figured out what might be causing it. Please download the latest build and install it over your current installation. The error should no longer occur. Let us know how this works for you.

Re: "File not open" error when setting up email reports

Apologies. It was a bug that crept into the release. Thank you for reporting it. Please download the fixed build and install it over your current installation. Email reports should now work as expected and you no longer need to supply SNMP settings.

Re: Taskbar extension changes between version 6 and 7

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

It looks like version 6 installer will not replace the taskbar extension from version 7 due to its lower version number. There are two options/solutions: 1. With version 7 You can install version 7 over version 6 again. It was likely that the speeds seemed wrong to you simply because the new version defaults to megabit/s while earlier versions defaulted to megabytes/s. The difference would b

@nicolaj: Please provide more details as to what seems to be wrong with SNMP. No igb0 interface is listed? Or it can't be selected? Or no activity reported? Or something else? Likewise with the port issue, we need as much details as possible to be able to reproduce and fix it. That is, what exactly was the issue and what application was affected.

Re: SQL error or missing database after update to v7

In both version 6 and version 7 the Backup button under Usage Reports will back up the entire database, including all settings and usage records.

Re: SQL error or missing database after update to v7

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Not all data are imported. In particular, when converting usage records, it will not convert per-application usage breakdown. Usually this information takes most of the space, that's why the size became much smaller. If you enabled application tracking in the welcome dialog of version 7, it will be recorded from then on.

Re: SQL error or missing database after update to v7

We have just fixed the database conversion routine and now it should handle very old NetWorx databases as well. Please do the following: Download a fresh copy of NetWorx. Install it over your current installation and reboot if asked. To initiate the conversion, quit NetWorx after it starts. From C:\ProgramData\SoftPerfect\NetWorx delete all the files that have the DB3 extension, including DB3

Re: SQL error or missing database after update to v7

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

Thanks guys, we have found what was causing this. Some really old NetWorx databases were creating using UTF-16 text encoding, while the newer ones use UTF-8 for compactness. The current conversion routine can't handle two databases in different encodings, but we will get this fixed shortly. Your data will be saved (except for the per-application usage breakdown).

Re: Enabled LAN filter counts traffic to NAS

Yes, you can upgrade to version 7. It should exclude local IPv6 traffic the same way as the build you are using. If you encounter any issues, please let us know.

Re: Background transparency in the floating graph

1 year ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum

It is unfortunately incompatible with the anti-aliased drawing that NetWorx is now using. Since the lines and text are drawn with antialiasing and blended with the background, it would look bad when the colour of the window behind is different. For example, if the background is white and the window behind is white, it looks good, but otherwise it does not:

Re: SQL error or missing database after update to v7

This error means somehow the data conversion from version 6 to version 7 did not go to plan. You can simply continue using version 7 without the old data. Alternatively, if you'd like us to investigate this issue, please compress the contents of C:\ProgramData\SoftPerfect\NetWorx to a ZIP file and upload it here.

Re: NetWorx version 7

Thanks for the feedback. We have just fixed graph snapping and made captionless graph resizeable. The updated build can be downloaded from the NetWorx product page. At the moment the buttons on the graph can't be hidden, but we'll add this later. Perhaps click-through as well, depending on how many users want it. Regarding SNMP, the app will try SNMPv2 and then fall back to SNMPv1. We'll ad
