Possible 5.2.10 network driver issue?
12 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
It would only affect computer-to-computer sync if you are using it. Otherwise it doesn't matter. WinPCap and NetWorx's own custom drivers do not conflict. You can have either or both installed. If however the NetWorx driver still doesn't work, I recommend to stick to WinPCap for the time being. We routinely update the NetWorx driver and there's a good chance your issue will be fixed in t

If the IP addresses are static and you have a rather small range, then yes. Turn on showing dead hosts, turn on friendly names and run a complete scan. Then assign a comment/description to every alive IP addresses. The dead ones would be unused and you can assign them to new devices. After that you may want to rescan the whole network to track changes.

This option refers to the NetWorx notification area icon when it's in the graph mode as shown below. It does not apply to the desk band graph.

Possible 5.2.10 network driver issue?

I am afraid it's not possible to monitor applications without this driver. Have you got any third-party software that may have interfered with NetWorx (e.g. antivirus, firewall, other filtering software)?
No correspondances on shared folder security permission with real ones

Well it looks like a bug in the network scanner. Would you be willing to assist with debugging it by running a small compiled piece of the network scanner's code that I will email you, so that we can track where and why it fails?

What does icacls print? Launch this in a command prompt: icacls \\x.x.x.x\prisma where x.x.x.x is the IP address in question.

Just use SELECT TotalPhysicalMemory FROM Win32_ComputerSystem. The result will still be in bytes though. I suppose the network scanner may need some support of regular expressions and/or basic arithmetic in columns.

No, however the bandwidth manager software can do that.

Generally the Ignore LAN traffic tickbox won't be available if: You are using the portable version; or The network driver couldn't be initialised or loaded; or It was not installed (ticked off during the installation process). If none of the above sound sound like the case, try installing the fresh build from here and reboot. Make sure you choose to install the network driver when asked durin

It looks like all the kernel memory is fragmented or something like that. Could you please download the Process Explorer, in its menu choose View - System Information and switch to the Memory tab? Post a screen shot from your system (similar to one below) here.
BSOD with RAM disk mounted on boot
12 years ago, by Andrew in RAM Disk Forum
Well, there isn't much we can do without a dump, but here's a couple of thoughts/questions: 1. Does your system have a built-in video card that reserves some amount for RAM for itself? 2. Do you have a paging file enabled? If not, I recommend to turn it on make it at least 16 GB (same as the size of RAM) to see if the problem goes away.
"Portion of file locked" when "Save each x minutes" is activated

It depends. If there aren't much changes it's very quick. Are you using FAT32 or NTFS? If it's NTFS, I'd recommend to try FAT32 as it generally may work better with automatically saved volumes.

Hi Nick, please try the latest NetWorx build and let me know if the problem persists.

No, it seems to be an issue connected with TrueCrypt. What version of it are you using? Also, how many encrypted volumes have you got, of what size and whether any are placed on the RAM disk?

How much is X minutes in your case? If it's 1 minute, it's very likely the disk may be locked most of the time (for saving its contents in a consistent way).

Is there a crash memory dump available? Look for MEMORY.DMP in the Windows folder.

Try the latest version 5.2.9. After I removed a problematic driver from it, it seems to work fine for everyone.

Also try ticking the HDD Emulation tick box. Although it's somewhat slower, it offers more compatibility with various Windows services.

QuoteWill "mounted on boot" option resolve problems with updates and software that require restart during installation? No. However, there aren't many applications that require temporary files to be present after a reboot. I myself have been using a volatile RAM disk for Windows temporary files for a couple of years without any major issues. QuoteI've used junction and "mklink&

It seems to be an issue in the development environment that we use to build WiFi Guard. I'll check what we can do about it.
TDiskTB: Database lock protocol error: locking protocol
12 years ago, by Andrew in NetWorx Forum
Well, this error is returned by SQLite and is SQLITE_PROTOCOL, for which the official documentation says QuoteThis value is returned if some other process is messing with file locks and has violated the file locking protocol that SQLite uses on its rollback journal files. Although we're using SQLite in a few software products, this is the first time I see this error in years. I would assume s
