Thank you for letting us know. It is very nice to hear that everything is working fine.

Re: "Unable to open the database file" on macOS

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

It looks like there is some kind of permissions issue. Please try opening the Terminal and typing: sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/Shared/Library You may need your admin password to execute this command. This will reset permissions on every directory within the path and hopefully fix the issue.

Re: Scheduled backups of RAM disk image file

1 year ago, by Ann in RAM Disk Forum

We are glad to be of help. By the way, our RAM Disk comes with a free 30-day trial. Therefore, if you wish, you can use it for that period to make you that you are absolutely happy with the software before purchasing a license.

Re: Scheduled backups of RAM disk image file

1 year ago, by Ann in RAM Disk Forum

It is perfectly doable with our RAM Disk application as it can periodically update the associated image every X minutes. In addition, to speed things up, it re-writes only the blocks that have changed since the last backup, which also greatly reduces the amount of writing to the SSD. To set periodic backups, open the main window, select your RAM disk and open its Properties. There click Advance

Speed numbers/text shifted beyond the taskbar boundary - Fixed

It is a Windows bug that only exhibits itself on systems with a touch screen. We have implemented a workaround that deals with this issue. Please download the latest build, try it and let us know how it works for you.

Re: Microsoft 365 SMTP error

1 year ago, by Ann in WiFi Guard Forum

This is happening because Microsoft is disabling SMTP authentication, which leads to the "5.7.139 Authentication unsuccessful" error that you see. To fix this problem, you can try one of the following: (easiest) Tick 'Use automatic settings' in WiFi Guard settings. In this case WiFi Guard will be instead using SendGrid for sending mail. Use a different SMTP server. Re-enable SMTP.

Re: How to move Vivaldi cache to RAM disk

1 year ago, by Ann in RAM Disk Forum

Yes, if you are using a portable (standalone) version of Vivaldi, the Cache Relocator will not be able to see it. Portable applications keep their files, including cache, in their own folders, which can be anywhere the user wished. Cache Relocator respects user privacy: it doesn't go through all user files and looks only in the standard system location. If your Vivaldi isn't there, it won't appear

Re: How to move Vivaldi cache to RAM disk

Thank you, we are delighted to hear that our Cache Relocator tool has been helpful to you. Regarding Vivaldi browser, it has been supported since version 1.1 of Cache Relocator. It should appear in the main window, in the list of supported browsers:

Re: How to remove/disable NetWorx password

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

It is a hidden folder, so Windows won't show it when you browse or search for it. Instead please copy the line %PROGRAMDATA%\SoftPerfect\NetWorx and paste it in the File name field in the Open Database dialog of the DB Browser. Then click Open or press Enter. This will take you directly to the target folder without the need to look for it. After that, either go to the Browse Data tab, sel

Re: How to remove/disable NetWorx password

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

This is definitely not caused by NetWorx update. This simply means that a password for the access to NetWorx settings was set. If it were not you, then perhaps someone else with access to your computer did, e.g. a family member. This article explains how you can recover the password and regain access to the entire NetWorx app.

Re: How to scan for files within a user profile

1 year ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum

Yes, it is possible to scan for files within the profile of a logged-on user. You can slightly modify the script under Options - Remote Scripting - Check each user shortcut. That script takes user names from another column and then verifies the existence of a file. You could simply change the source column name to "Logged User" and modify the rest of the script to suit your requireme

Re: How to remove or hide taskbar graph

1 year ago, by Ann in NetGenius Forum

To hide the graph and display only the speed numbers in the taskbar, simply move the mouse to the left side of the taskbar graph, then click it and drag it to the right, making the extension area narrower. Once it's narrow enough, the graph will be hidden, and only the speeds will remain.

Re: Latency/delay is not perfectly random

1 year ago, by Ann in Connection Emulator Forum

Thank you for providing feedback on the latency test findings. We have rerun the tests with the delay of 100-300ms, and the results were mixed. During the first session, the ping times edged up towards 200+ milliseconds, like in your case. However, in the second session, after a reboot, there was an even distribution between 100 and 300ms. Based on this analysis, there may be two factors at pla

Re: Volatile RAM disks

1 year ago, by Ann in RAM Disk Forum

While Primo may have the option to create disks that are not preserved when the system is rebooted, SoftPerfect RAM Disk also offers this functionality, and it doesn't require deleting its RAM disks: If you unmount a RAM disk before rebooting, it won't be mounted at the next startup. SoftPerfect RAM Disk remembers which disks were mounted or unmounted before the last shut down/reboot, and next

Re: Some menus and buttons are missing

1 year ago, by Ann in Bandwidth Manager Forum

Yes, the trial is fully-featured, and thus has exactly the same interface as the licensed version. You are missing some interface elements because you are using a limited access password. Have a look at the bottom-left corner of the main window of your Bandwidth Manager. You will see that is says "Limited access to localhost". You need to log in with your full access password to acces

Re: How to integrate Nmap on macOS

Simply press Shift+Command+G in the Open Folder dialog. This will allow you to enter any custom path, and this works in any Open Folder dialog on macOS.

Re: How to integrate Nmap on macOS

Try choosing /usr/local/bin, it should then locate the Nmap binary within that folder.

Re: Usage history retention period

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

Usage data is stored indefinitely (unless the user deletes it), with 1-hour granularity. This data is not presented as a graph, but it can be viewed in the Usage Reports in detail down to the hour, as shown in the screenshot below. The graph view displays one hour of data with 1-second granularity. So you can scroll back up to one hour, provided NetWorx app has not been restarted during that ti

Re: Output files are not created sometimes

1 year ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum

It is probably related to the console output buffering. As the Network Scanner is not a true console program, it attaches directly to a parent console when printing its progress. Try adding "start /B /wait" to the beginning of your command, like this: start /B /wait netscan.exe /hide /config ...

Re: The effect of "Mount as Removable" option

1 year ago, by Ann in RAM Disk Forum

Making any disk 'Removable' essentially disables Windows file caching for that disk. The caching system is disabled to prevent data loss in case the disk is suddenly removed (e.g. a USB stick is pulled out). Without caching, reading and writing to a removable drive is a little slower than to a regular drive. Due to this decrease in disk performance, we don't recommend ticking 'Mount as Removab

Re: WiFi Guard Pre-Release

1 year ago, by Ann in WiFi Guard Forum

There were a couple of tiny improvements, which have subsequently been added to the official release files available for download from WiFi Guard product page. The changes were so small that they did not earn a changelog entry and a version number increase. If you have already got the latest version, you can keep using it without updating anything. But if you download the current application f

Re: What does "ms" stand for?

1 year ago, by Ann in WiFi Guard Forum

ms means milliseconds. In your example: "192.168.2.1" is the IP address of the device (network connection identifier of the device). "14-35-8B-01-67-50" is the MAC address of the device (physical identifier of the device). "1 ms" is Round-Trip Time (RTT). It shows how long it took to receive a response from that device. In this case it took 1 millisecond. &quo

Re: Suggestion: Add more custom "friendly" columns

Thank you for the suggestion. It looks like a good idea, so we have just implemented Associated Data, which is custom columns support under Friendly Host Names. Please download the new build to test this feature.

Re: How to incorporate the date into the report filenames

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

A set of special date-formatting characters is supported in reports saved to a file. You can use any of these tokens, each surrounded by % characters: y yy yyyy m mm mmm mmmm d dd ddd dddd h hh n nn s ss For example: %yyyy%-%mm%-%dd%.txt will become 2023-01-23.txt

Re: Remote Time

1 year ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum

Network Scanner uses the NetRemoteTOD Windows API call to find out the remote time. If for some reason it returns inconsistent data, you can try getting the remote time via WMI with SELECT LocalDateTime FROM Win32_OperatingSystem Simply go to Settings - Remote WMI and add the above query. It will then query the current time from the WMI subsystem.

Re: What do 3 dashes (---) in the Ping Time column mean?

1 year ago, by Ann in WiFi Guard Forum

It means that the device was discovered via an ARP request but did not respond to ping. So the ping time couldn't be measured. The device is still connected to your WiFi.

Re: No graph is displayed in Connection Monitor

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

The table below the strip with the ping and uptime figures in Connection Monitor lists historical downtime and ping. In the older releases it was not updated in real time and instead it fetched the latest data when it was opened. If that's your case, you can simply close and re-open that window, and you will see what's been recorded. There is no need to keep it open for the monitoring to be ac

Re: No graph is displayed in Connection Monitor

1 year ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum

If you see the usage graph and data in other places in NetWorx while only the Connection Monitor window is empty, simply close the Connection Monitor window and re-open it anew. If however you don't see the usage graph and data anywhere, please check your NetWorx settings under Mode on the Main tab. It needs to be set either to 'Monitoring of applications' or 'Monitoring of a network adapter'.

Re: How to relocate NinjaTrader files to RAM disk

1 year ago, by Ann in RAM Disk Forum

The correct way to use mklink is: mklink /d "C:\Users\Owner\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\tmp" "V:\NT8" Most importantly, V:\NT8 must exist, while C:\Users\Owner\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\tmp must NOT exist. In your case you are getting an error probably because the path C:\Users\Owner\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\tmp already exists. So you will need to delete the tmp folder prior

Re: Host Name resolution across VLANs

1 year ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum

Host name resolution should work across VLANs in the default configuration. You can also try different name lookup methods that can be chosen next to the host name resolution checkbox. If it still doesn't work on some devices, it may be that those devices don't have names assigned to them or there is a firewall that blocks such attempts.
