That's good that you kept at it until you found the solution. I have to admit that I had no motivation to get to know that program in depth since I knew of two others that could do what's required. Did you contact the author or discover the solution yourself?

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

You shouldn't attribute human characteristics to inanimate things by saying that databases behave and programs get confused. Programs simply do what their author has defined/designed them to do and databases simply exist as defined by the person creating them. All browsers are programs but not all programs are browsers. Do you say 'browser' when refering to Excel, since Excel lets you browse th

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

Well it might make sense to ask the author of the browser why his program does what it does. Right now all we know is it doesn't work properly and we can guess all kinds of things but he's the one to debug his program

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

I decided to see what the sqlitebrowser can do and found that when I tried to add a record to the usage table by clicking on the button that it tries to add/insert a record with incorrect values for record number, day and hour. I have no idea how it picks those values, it certainly doesn't open up an input window to allow me to specify the values which is what I'd expect, so in my opinion the

QuoteWith a new database created in the browser, I can manually add records ad infinitum true if you haven't specified a unique index on the database table but not true when there's a unique index specified for the database table... which is what networx is doing with user day hour. Unique means that there cannot be multiple records with the same values in all key fields. J

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

QuoteHope all this makes sense. Yes, now it does. As Andrew points out, sqlite doesn't know about networx and that Netwrx is using hour is a 'time' field, after all the values are simple integers, there's no tell-tale format such as "yyyy.mm.dd.hh.mm.ss". Same for the day field So it simply adds 1 to the hour value in the 'last' record, and that's not wrong for it to do that.

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

Quote Bearing in mind I know next to nothing about SQLite databases, I think there may be a problem with Networx back-ups which are now in SQLite database format. well it wasn't clear which file that you meant, you said your 'backup' which is a static file concept i.e. at a specific time. and you commented that it was now in the sqlite format. So I assumed that you weren't talking about a 'cop

Re: Auto-increment problem in back-ups

First, you shouldn't be updating your backup file, you should be updating the main file (or a copy). There's only one record per user + day + hour, i.e. that's a 'unique key', you can't have multiple records with the same key so what you're doing is wrong. If you want to 'update' a specific record/unique key then you can do that with sqlite very easily by clicking on the value and then editi

Just be aware that, depending on the type of downloads, the percentage may vary by quite a bit. For normal browsing 10% is quite close, but if you're downloading a large installation file, the difference may be 12% or even more. You can use sqlite to make adjustments to the networx.db records to bring them in line with the ISP totals when that happens, but it's 'after the fact'. It's hard to kn

Hi Andrew, Maybe it would help if, instead of using <ctrl> O, a button is used to access these additional 'Hidden' settings, like the buttons for and . There's enough room on the left side, below 'Volume unit' and above 'Monitored interfaces'. This would avoid the issue of the settings being 'too hidden' since users don't always read the (excellent) Help file instructions even when there

The "Show graph grid and axes" only controls the grid of dots, not the numbers, on the floating graph. You should take some time to become familiar with a

Re: New feature: Real-time application monitoring

Ahhh, 'history' was a guess since I saw two apps with traffic and around here it's only ever one at a time such as FF or TB but I never have both going at the same time. So 'real time' really is real time and it's hard to visually track when there's just a little bit of traffic. I'll get it set up when I have something bigger to download and watch. Nice job, thanks, J

Hi Andrew, I only see traffic speeds when something is actually happening, I don't get any 'history' as it appears in your screenshot. Question: Since this is now 'real time', the button and the for Automatic Refresh are now redundant, should they be removed? Anyway, much faster than before, which is good. Thanks, J W7SP1-64bit

Re: 1 installed and 2 portable instances get mixed up counts

I solved this. I had had all instances set to NOT load with Windows and instead had put shortcuts in my Startup folder. Hi Andrew, This happened again today when I installed the new release. After the reboot I got a pop up stating "Driver operation error" and a second that the "Hot key Ctrl I has already been registered". Re: Feature request: Clear application log automatically daily

I discovered how to copy the rows from the Application table to a csv file, here's the modified bat file to run daily. Note that I specify a custom folder for the Networx db and the two spreadsheet files so a user will likely need to modify this for their own situation. I kept the spreadsheet names short: NWapps.csv and NWapps.odt. The last one could be NWapps.xls for Office users. cd c:\ @
