Re: Lost settings. Monitoring stops after reboot

8 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

Leaving the router on won't use much electricity (cost) so if that works, great. You'll only have the problem if the power goes off (anytime) if your equipment isn't protected by a UPS (Uninterupted Power Supply = battery backup power). J

When you have the router SMTP config screen showing the Get=Read and Set=Write community names/passwords which haven't changed from yesterday, can you leave them "as is" without changing them and click and have networx read the data? Or do you have to change them in order to Save them and then make the same change in networx? You only need the Get/Read name because that's all that

Re: Lost settings

He doesn't explain himself properly. Although he says that the router keeps it's settings, he then says that he has to change the SNMP settings in the router. That indicates that the router didn't keep the settings for SNMP, it changed them, to 'something'. He doesn't say what the router SNMP 'something' settings were after a reboot (and that had to be changed to match what was in the Networx

Re: How to kill systray icons when using TASKKILL to stop NetWorx

8 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

I first tried eliminating the "/F" but that gave a popup error: "Cannot use Ctrl + Alt + G as a hotkey: System Error. Code 1409. Hot key is already registered" So then I copied the contents of the file "ResetIconCache.bat" (to: stop explorer, delete 2 registry keys and start explorer) into my .bat file and then I modified the TASKKILL line to get all explorer proce

How to kill systray icons when using TASKKILL to stop NetWorx

8 years ago, by Praxis in NetWorx Forum

Hi Andrew, I'll list the .bat file which I have scheduled to run daily. It manages to 'kill' the 3 processes and children but their icons remain in systray. So an icon is not a child process I guess. This causes a problem when I start the 3 instances again, multiple icons exist in "Customize notification icons", some from the 'old' processes and some from the 'new', and these somehow

Perfect! I also set up an annual task to clear Usage. Enter the first day of a year into a spreadsheet and format the cell as numeric with zero decimals, this number is used to define the prior records to be deleted. Set up/modify the task to Run Once (but never expire so it can be used again next year) so that it runs on 1 Jan 2016 run with date 1 Jan 2015 which is expressed as an intege

Hi Andrew, I tried and failed. I opened sqlitespy and created an .sql file containing: OPEN networx.db DELETE FROM application CLOSE My thinking was that 1) the database must be opened before 2) the table can be referenced and then 3) the database should be closed. When I tried to Execute the .sql I got a message that there was an error close to "Open". Can you

Re: Command Line Options, Clear Application Usage Data

Then you might need to make an sqlite script and schedule it for "every morning". Check the site https://sqlite.org/sqlite.html for command line stuff, and good luck... J PS It may or may not be possible if Networx is running when the script starts to execute, Networx may lock the database to prevent the script, etc.

QuoteNasapunk88The Application Usage tracking is a great feature to understand what is using the bandwidth, however, it would be even better if I was able to track it daily, or reset it daily, or to also follow the On-Peak/Off-Peak hours. If you want to reset only the Application statistics without affecting your other statistics, you can right click inside the App stats window and either "

Then let's call it so it's like the Clear in the Apps tab where we can get rid of some but not all. Actually you have similar logic for the Custom tab, in that case the range is used to limit what's displayed. I'm not trying to load you with work but if the same range logic (dates only, forget about hours) was applied then the records to be cleared would be listed with a pop up to confirm and

Re: Access Violation Error

It's working perfectly on my system, both Installed and Portable. The new feature to allow values to be specified when the button is pressed is handy when we need to adjust totals to agree with the ISP if, for example, Networx wasn't running but traffic was flowing. I had this happen about 3 weeks ago and had to use sqlite to adjust some records to 'get the right totals'. This will be so much

There's a problem with 5.4.1 at the moment, so, no, it won't work properly. (see the other thread for details). J

Re: Access Violation Error

Having read the above posts: 1) I checked v 5.4.0.15211 2015-07-30 and found that the Custom tab in the Installed instance does not display the fields to select the Date and Time range. Instead I get a pop up stating that I "Failed to set calendar date or time" range. The two Portable instances supply the range(s) and allow modification. So it's just the Installed that has a proble

If you're monitoring All Connections with the [ ] box ticked for Ignore local..., you should also be able to click the button. That will take you to the IP Address Range Manager window where you can exclude all local addresses EXCEPT your router. 1) You'll have to delete the range: from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 2) You'll have to define two ranges: from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.1.0

Hi Andrew, I can see the Application tab in the Installed instance but not in the Portable, you probably answered this before but I checked Help and found nothing. If it's 'exactly' double and both computers are: 1) on all the time, 2) monitoring your router and 3) you have them sync-ing, then your totals would be double since both are reporting the same usage. What are you monitoring....... etc?
