Re: Ping Monitor suggestion: Per-device ping interval and timeout
5 months ago, by Ann in Network Toolkit Forum
We are very open to user feedback, especially as this is a new product. Could you please share a bit more about your practical use case for having the ping interval and timeout configurable per device? In most scenarios it tends to be simpler to keep the interval and timeout consistent across all hosts, while adjusting the latency thresholds per host instead, since latency is naturally highe
No data is displayed on the Speed tab - Fixed

Thank you for reporting this issue. It turns out that due to a recent change in third-party infrastructure, speed tests may have stopped working. Please download a fresh copy of the Connection Quality Monitor application file and update your installation. This should fix the problem.
Re: Updating Windows 10 with RAM Disk to Windows 11
5 months ago, by Ann in RAM Disk & RAM File System Forum
We are very glad to hear that you love our RAM Disk and that it is working well for your trading setup. Upgrading to Windows 11 with RAM Disk version 4.2 should be Ok — it is compatible and should continue working. That said, version 4.2 is about five years old now, and we've made a lot of improvements since then. We recommend updating RAM Disk application to the latest version before making th

Good news: both of your wishes are already implemented in our RAM Disk. As of version 26.1, memory is always securely zeroed before being released back to the system. This means that when you unmount a RAM disk or shut down your computer, the memory contents are wiped clean before being made available to other processes. You can see this in the RAM Disk changelog. Regarding power cycles spec

Bandwidth Manager is implemented as a system service, so it runs all the time while your PC is on, regardless of whether the management console is running or not.
Re: How to extract version information that is appended to folder name
6 months ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum
Until now, Network Scanner supported wildcards (* and ?) only in the final component of the path, so patterns like C:\Program Files\Folder*\File.exe didn't work. Good news: we've just made a new build that supports wildcards anywhere in the path. So you can now use this patterns to accomplish your goal: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MicrosoftCorporationII.Windows365*\Windows365.exe It will fi
Re: WiFi Guard forgets or does not recognize my iPhone
6 months ago, by Ann in WiFi Guard Forum
This behaviour is caused by the MAC address randomisation feature in modern iPhones. It is normal and expected in iOS devices unless you disable MAC randomisation for the network in question. WiFi Guard identifies devices by their MAC address. By default, iOS assigns a random MAC address for increased privacy. When that MAC address changes, WiFi Guard detects the iPhone as a new or different d

Thank you for the detailed feedback. You pointed out an edge case that wasn't considered in NetWorx. We will implement an improvement and post an update here soon.
SpeedTest error: Cannot convert data from object value - Fixed
7 months ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum
Thank you for reporting this issue. That error occurred because the service NetWorx uses for speed testing changed its response format. We have updated NetWorx application to work with those changes and released a new version, which also includes some additional improvements. Please download the latest version of NetWorx and install it over your current installation. The speed meter should work

Menu is not opening after update - Solution
7 months ago, by Ann in RAM Disk & RAM File System Forum
Please reboot your system a second time. When upgrading, the installer advises two restarts to ensure the RAM Disk driver and graphical interface versions match correctly. When the second reboot is complete, the software menu should open normally. Currently we are reviewing the installation process. In the next release, only one restart should be required.
Re: Driver version did not change after upgrade

Drivers are a thing that by its nature is deeply integrated in and managed by the operating system. Apparently Windows can sometimes display a driver version incorrectly in some places, even after the driver itself was successfully updated. We understand that such version number inconsistency may be puzzling to some users, and we will of course do our out best to fix it if possible. But, as ex

@ Buddel Please provide as much information as possible about this issue, so that we could know exactly what happened in your case. Saying that your computer "was unusable" and you "had to restore the entire disk" is too serious for a "side note". It requires proper investigation. In the same message, you then say that "it is really annoying to be told to re
Re: Driver version did not change after upgrade

The old driver version displayed in Windows Device Manager is a purely cosmetic issue: the RAM Disk driver actually gets correctly updated (when it should) after installing a new version, but Windows Device Manager sometimes keeps reporting an older driver version. Updating the driver additionally via Device Manager simply prompts the Device Manager to refresh its display, and thus the problem get

Re: Line spacing in the scan results list
7 months ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum
It really depends on someone's personal definition of "off". You are not missing anything, except the mention in the changelog that the interface was made more legible. This includes increased line spacing, and was meant to make distinguishing of lines easier. Of course this also makes the list a bit longer, and may require another touch of the mouse wheel to scroll through it. W

Thank you for sending your configuration file. You did everything correctly. We have tested NetWorx 25.12 with your exact configuration on macOS Tahoe and on macOS Sequoia. On both systems it worked perfectly well and there were no errors of any kind. Network Scanner does actually include a feature called Live Display that provides continuous scanning capabilities. When enabled, it keeps monitoring your network in the background, automatically detecting new devices as they come online and identifying those that have left the network. This gives you ongoing visibility without needing to manually rescan each time. That said, there's an archite

Taskbar graph disappeared after update - Solution
8 months ago, by Ann in NetWorx Forum
The taskbar graph has been improved it to include the Y-axis with one or two labels depending on your chosen font and taskbar size. However, if there isn't enough space in your taskbar, these labels and the graph itself may be automatically hidden by Windows. To resolve this, simply resize the taskbar graph area slightly, as shown below - and the graph should become visible again. Mouse
Re: How to prevent duplicate RAM Disk icons in the notification area
8 months ago, by Ann in RAM Disk & RAM File System Forum
This behaviour is due to your using an old version of the RAM Disk application. Versions prior to 4.4.1 used the tray icon hint as the identifier. Because the hint dynamically changes with available memory, Windows treats each update as a new icon and creates multiple entries. Starting with version 4.4.1, RAM Disk instead uses a fixed GUID as its identifier, preventing duplicates even when the
Re: Icon with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark next to a device
8 months ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum
Yes, it probably was one of the blocking calls such as NB-TCP or SMB. If you increase the max thread run time limit (in most cases there is no need to set one at all), you will be able to see what happens more clearly. When a device scan takes too long, you can right-click it, select Properties, and view both what the scanner is doing and how long it's been in that state.
Re: Icon with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark next to a device
8 months ago, by Ann in Network Scanner Forum
Most likely the scanning of that device was aborted because it exceeded the time limit. Please check the value you have set under Settings - General - Max thread run time. When a scan thread exceeds this limit, the application first attempts to shut it down gracefully, and if that fails, it terminates the thread, displaying the error/warning icon.

The yellow/orange triangle with the exclamation mark indicates a scanning error or an interrupted scan. You can view all status symbols and their meanings by going to View - Legend in the main menu.

Re: Discrepancy in numbers between Taskbar and Applications graph window

Most likely you are monitoring more than one network interface. The main graph shows real-time usage for a single interface, while the taskbar widget combines usage from all monitored interfaces. Please open Settings - Main tab, and check which interfaces you are monitoring in the Mode section.

We've investigated the port numbering discrepancy that you are seeing in Switch Port Mapper for your Moxa EDS-4012-8P-4GS switch. Here is what's happening: The Moxa switch uses SNMP interface indices (1-12) that don't directly correspond to the physical port labels you see on the device panel: SNMP Interface Indices 1-4 = Physical Ports G1, G2, G3, G4 (Gigabit SFP) SNMP Interface Indices 5-12

Windows Defender is notorious for blocking legitimate applications. Does your Defender version offer a whitelist/exclusion option? If so, try uninstalling NetWorx, then adding the downloaded NetWorx installer file to Defender's exclusions, then running NetWorx installation process, and then additionally whitelisting the installed NetWorx application before launching it.
