Yes, you can install our Network Scanner on a USB stick and use it whenever and wherever you need. The most common scenario is when a technician visits the customers and runs the software from his/her USB stick on different computers as required. Your router may be using a so-called wireless client isolation or session isolation, which means the clients cannot see each other over the network. There should be a setting in the router's web-interface to turn this feature on and off.

It is indeed a small issue. It happens due to the code that draws the histogram treating pure the white colour as transparent. The simplest solution for this is to go to the Graph Colours tab in the NetWorx Settings and choose an off-white colour for the background (e.g. Ghost white or Snow). It will look white in your tray/notification area, and will fix the problem.

The XML files Network Scanner generates are not designed to be loaded into MS Excel. Simply save the results as CSV or HTML - they are better suited for MS Office.

Thank you. It turned out that these models return the MAC address in their CDP info in binary rather than in ASCII as the standard prescribes. This caused an exception and incorrect further processing, which in turn caused VLAN info not to be displayed. Please download the latest version and let us know how it works for you.

This could be because it is connected twice, e.g. by a network card and WiFi, but usually in that case the IP address and MAC address are different. Does this happen every time you scan? If so, could you please provide the IP range(s) you are scanning?

The usage records are kept indefinitely unless you delete the records or lose the database, say in case of a hard drive replacement. We don't have any comparison with Linux, and a direct comparison would be difficult. The Connection Emulator can definitely add extra latency to your network link, though that depends on how this VR equipment is connected. The software has to physically pass-through traffic to add latency to individual packets, so one way would be installing it on the sever (if it runs Windows) or on a intermediate computer through which the traffic is routed.

There is a couple of ways to do it, but not via command line parameters: 1. Direct reading/writing of the database. To get the results in Speed Meter, you need to press the Start button and wait about 1 minute for the test to complete. That would be because NetWorx used the recipient address to fill both the recipient and the sender email headers. We have added a new setting that allows you to specify the sender address for outgoing emails. Now you can specify your Office 365 e-mail as the sender, which should make it possible to use different email addresses as recipients. You can download the new NetWorx build here.
